OnlineCounsellingForYou offers professional counselling and psychotherapy for emotional wellbeing and personal development. The information provided on this website, in emails, or during sessions is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a GP, psychiatrist, or other licensed medical professional.

While therapy can be a valuable support, it does not guarantee specific outcomes. Each person’s journey is unique, and progress can vary.

I do not provide legal, financial, or medical advice. Paul Madden is a BACP-accredited therapist and works within the BACP Ethical Framework and UK law.
Appointments

Sessions last 50 minutes and are offered online (via Zoom) or by phone.

Appointments are scheduled in advance at a mutually agreed time.

It is your responsibility to attend sessions from a quiet, private space with a stable internet or phone connection.
Fees & Payments

Initial Assessment (50 mins): £50

Ongoing Sessions (50 mins): £60 per session

Payments are due in advance via bank transfer.
Block Bookings
Discounted packages are available and must be paid in full:

6 sessions: £345
-
10 sessions: £570
-
12 sessions: £675

Cancellations & Missed Sessions

Please provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.

Missed sessions or cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at the full rate.
Confidentiality
All personal information and session content is treated with strict confidentiality.
Confidentiality may be broken only if:

There is a serious risk of harm to you or others

I am required to do so by law (e.g. safeguarding, terrorism, money laundering)

I use WriteUpp, a secure, GDPR-compliant practice management system, to schedule appointments and store notes.

I keep brief clinical notes after each session, for professional use only.

These are anonymised, securely stored, and not shared.

Notes are retained for one year after our work ends and then deleted.

You may request to see your notes, subject to professional and legal guidelines.
Data Protection (GDPR)
I comply fully with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Your personal data is:

Stored securely and accessed only when necessary

Used solely to provide you with a counselling service

Boundaries & Contact Outside Sessions
Counselling is a professional relationship. To protect both client and therapist, boundaries are in place.

Contact between sessions should be for admin purposes only (e.g. booking or rescheduling).

Any therapeutic matters should be brought into the next session.
Ending Therapy
You are free to end therapy at any time. If possible, I encourage planning a final session to reflect and close the work.
I also reserve the right to end therapy if it is no longer appropriate or beneficial.

Please note that this is not an emergency service. I am not available outside of our scheduled sessions.
