About Paul Madden

Hello, I’m Paul Madden, a BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over 20 years’ experience supporting people through some of life’s most challenging moments. I provide confidential online counselling for adults across the UK and English-speaking clients worldwide, including expats living abroad.

My background includes hospice and bereavement care, NHS sexual health and HIV services, LGBT+ support, and senior leadership within health and social care. Over the years, I have supported people navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, identity, relationship difficulties, diagnosis, and major life transitions, including experiences relating to HIV, herpes, and sexual health.

Many of the people I work with are coming to counselling for the first time. My approach is calm, grounded, and non-judgemental, with a focus on helping you feel comfortable enough to talk openly at a pace that feels manageable for you.

I work in an integrative and relational way, meaning therapy is tailored to the individual rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, stuck, anxious, or simply not yourself, counselling can provide a supportive space to begin making sense of what you are experiencing.

I offer online and telephone counselling internationally, making it easier to access support wherever you are in the world.
