Online Counselling in the UK

Professional Online Counselling Wherever You Feel Most Comfortable

Online video counselling gives you access to the same professional, confidential support as face-to-face therapy, without the need to travel. Whether you're at home, in your office, or elsewhere in the UK or abroad, you can attend sessions from a private space that feels comfortable and familiar.

Many people find video counselling fits more easily around work, family life and other commitments, making it easier to access support when they need it most.

Whether you're experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties, burnout, or simply feeling unlike yourself, online counselling offers a calm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly at your own pace.

What Is Online Counselling?

Online counselling is a form of talking therapy delivered through secure video appointments. Sessions are confidential, one-to-one, and take place in much the same way as traditional face-to-face counselling.

You'll have dedicated time to talk openly about whatever is affecting your wellbeing while receiving professional support in a safe and non-judgemental environment.

Many clients find that being in familiar surroundings helps them feel more relaxed, making it easier to engage in therapy.

Why Choose an Online Therapist?

Why Choose an Online Therapist?

Life is busy, and finding time to travel to appointments isn't always easy.

Working with an online therapist in the UK allows you to access professional counselling wherever you live, without compromising on the quality of support you receive.

Online counselling may be ideal if you:

  • Have a busy work schedule

  • Travel frequently

  • Live in a rural area

  • Have mobility or health concerns

  • Care for children or family members

  • Prefer the comfort and privacy of your own home

  • Feel more comfortable speaking remotely

Remote therapy has become an established way of delivering psychological support, improving access and flexibility for many people.

How Online Counselling Works

Getting started is simple, and you can choose the option that feels right for you.

Option 1 – Book a Free 15-Minute Consultation

If you'd like to ask questions before committing to counselling, you can book a free 15-minute consultation. This gives you the opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy, learn more about how I work, and decide whether we're a good fit.

Option 2 – Book Your Initial Assessment

If you're ready to begin counselling, you can book your initial assessment straight away without having a consultation first. This 50-minute session allows us to explore your reasons for seeking counselling, understand your goals, and discuss how we can work together moving forward.

Ongoing Counselling Sessions

Following your initial assessment, we'll arrange ongoing appointments at a time that works for you. Sessions are available during the day and evening where possible and last approximately 50 minutes.

Join Your Secure Video Session

Before each appointment, you'll receive a secure link to join your online session. Simply connect using your laptop, tablet or smartphone from a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable talking.

Online counselling is confidential and provides the same professional, supportive environment as face-to-face therapy.

Issues Online Counselling Can Help With

Online therapy is suitable for many of the same issues as face-to-face counselling, including:

  • Anxiety

  • Stress and burnout

  • Depression

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Low self-esteem

  • Men's mental health

  • LGBT+ support

  • Workplace stress

  • Life transitions

  • Emotional wellbeing

Every person is different, so counselling is tailored to your individual circumstances rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Is Online Counselling Effective?

For many people, yes.

The quality of the therapeutic relationship remains the most important factor in successful counselling, regardless of whether sessions take place online or face to face. Many clients find online therapy just as supportive and effective, while benefiting from the convenience and flexibility that remote sessions provide.

UK health services increasingly offer therapy by secure video, telephone and other digital methods to improve access and patient choice.
